106 new cases, 1 death, active cases continue to fall

The nation had 10,241 total infections as of Saturday with 58 deaths.

"During the second Covid-19 wave, when cases were growing exponentially, the Covid-19 vaccination rate took a downturn".

The 14,849 doses of COVID-19 vaccine reported Sunday were administered to residents living in the following zones: far north west (188), far north central (1), far north east (97), north west (712), north central (1,255), north east (474), Saskatoon (3,206), central west (356), central east (1,696), Regina (3,464), south west (464), south central (1,587) and south east (1,065).

On June 12, the SHA informed GSCS of two cases of the virus in individuals at Saskatoons French School, GSCS said in a news release.

Meanwhile, residents of a townhouse complex in Melbourne's CBD are being ordered to isolate for up to a fortnight after authorities established a link between two coronavirus cases who live there. One case was reassigned to the north central zone and one case, tested out of province, was added to the North Central Zone. According to the Union health ministry, a total of 3,303 deaths were reported in the last 24 hours, taking the death toll to 3,70,384 in the country.

The seven-day average of daily new cases sits at 78, or 6.4 per 100,000 population. There are 67 screened VOCs with residence pending.

"We clearly have an imbalance there", said Dr. Tom Shimabukuro, deputy director of the CDC's Immunization Safety Office, in a New York Times report. The dominant variant type in Saskatchewan continues to be the Alpha variant - also known as the B.1.1.7 variant first identified in the U.K. To date, 5,932 Alpha variant cases have been confirmed across the province.

Firstly, the previously infected group (people who got infected with Covid-19) showed a greater antibody response to a single dose of vaccine compared with those who had no prior infection.

There are 96 people in hospital. There are six ICU cases in the Saskatoon region, four in each of the Regina and north-central regions, and one in each of the northwest, central-east and southwest areas. Seventeen people are in intensive care in the following zones: Saskatoon (6), North Central (4), Regina (4), North West (1), Central East (1), and South West (1).
