The Group of Seven summit is set to open soon in Cornwall, southwestern Britain, on Friday afternoon.

On the eve of the summit, Biden, who is making his first foreign trip as president, announced that the USA will purchase 500 million doses from Pfizer and will supply half of all the vaccines set to be shared globally.

The heads of state and government from the Group of Seven (G7) - Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom and the United States - are meeting June 11-13 for their 47th summit. Other leaders, including Japanese Prime Minister Suga Yoshihide, arrived on Thursday and Friday.

There is a large security operation in place for the G7 event, the first in-person meeting of the leaders of major developed economies for almost two years, with 5,000 police officers drafted in from across Britain.

Environmental activists bombarded Johnson´s Twitter feed with suggestions that the prime minister should practice what he preaches after he posted a photo of himself climbing off the plane accompanied by a call to make the world "better, fairer and greener".

Group of Seven (G7) foreign ministers began their consultations in early May to discuss Western pushback against Russian Federation and China, the Coronavirus, economic recovery and climate change.

The summit's foreign policy agenda will include relations with such countries as Russia, Belarus, Ethiopia, Afghanistan, Iran, and Libya.
