Greene, age 46, also reportedly shouted that Ocasio-Cortez was failing to defend her "radical socialist" beliefs by declining to publicly debate the freshman from Georgia.

This is not a new move for Greene, although one would hope that she wouldn't still be pulling stunts like this after having been elected to Congress.

Rep. Ocasio-Cortez wisely chose not to engage with Greene, "only turning around once and throwing her hands in the air in an exasperated motion".

She confronted Ocasio-Cortez on the House floor in April to demand a debate on the Green New Deal after the Democratic Representative said climate change was the result of racism.

"You don't care about the American people", Greene yelled.

Greene has had a swift rise off the back of her Trumpian positions, as Insider's Dave Levinthal reported.

The House rebuked Greene weeks after she took office, stripping her of her committee assignments over her racist and violent rhetoric. Rep.

She accused President Joe Biden of issuing a "blanket statement" that failed to acknowledge the root causes of the crisis which included the Israeli police raid of the Al-Aqsa mosque and the looming evictions of dozens of Palestinians from their homes in East Jerusalem.

Ocasio-Cortez, a progressive with similar star power, has become a favorite target.

Following the Post's report, Twitter users called for Ms Greene's arrest, or for Ms Greene to be completely removed from the chamber. Before walking away, Greene told a small group of reporters, "She's a chicken, she doesn't want to debate the Green New Deal", adding, "These members are cowards".

In the video, Greene said Ocasio-Cortez and other progressive members of Congress such as Rep. Rashida Tlaib and Rep. Ilhan Omar supported "terrorists" in their public defense of Gazans in recent hostilities with Israel.

It's worth noting neither Black Lives Matter, nor Antifa, has been designated as a terror organization in the US.

During her weekly press conference at the Capitol on Thursday, May 13, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi denounced Greene for her "verbal assault" and "abuse" of Ocasio-Cortez, saying that it is "so beyond the pale of anything that is in keeping with bringing honor to the House".

Staffers for Ocasio-Cortez did not immediately respond to Insider's request for comment.
