The official noted that at this time 105 million Americans are fully vaccinated and more than 56% of USA adults or 147 million people have received at least one shot.

Biden, per CNN, is going to announce he wants to see 70 percent of all US adults get at least one vaccine dose by Independence Day, as well as getting 160 million adults fully vaccinated. Already more than 56% of adult Americans have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine and almost 105 million are fully vaccinated. According to federal data, over 105 million Americans, or almost 32% of the population, are now fully vaccinated.

Biden also added Wednesday that his administration is working with retail chains and sports leagues to offer deals and promotions for people who get vaccinated in the hopes making vaccinations more "fun". The number of doses administered per day is running at almost 2.3 million, after reaching almost 3.4 million in mid-April.

The weekly allocations will still be determined by adult population, however states had been allowed to carryover unordered doses week-to-week in case they needed them in the coming weeks.

Biden has regularly implored Americans to get a vaccine, avoid large crowds and continue Covid-19 mitigation efforts a bit longer to drive the caseload down in time for July 4 celebrations.

Going forward, the Biden administration will redistribute any doses that states don't claim, an administration official said.

Also on Tuesday, Biden announced the launch of "vaccines.gov" - a website that will allow users to book a nearby vaccination appointment online.

President Joe Biden on Tuesday outlined the next stage of the U.S.'s COVID-19 vaccination distribution plan - a plan that prioritizes walk-in appointments at local pharmacies and pop-up clinics to make vaccinations easier for those who have not yet gotten the shot.

The president's July 4th goal apparently includes expanding vaccine access. If that happens, doses would be distributed through pediatricians and family doctors, and by using the federal pharmacy program, which would make the vaccines available at about 15,000 pharmacies across the country, administration officials said.

"I'd like to get it 100%, but I think realistically we can get to that place between now and July Fourth", Biden said.

The push to see more Americans vaccinated is part of Biden's effort to stamp out a pandemic that has upended the lives of millions of Americans and battered the national economy for more than a year.
