Jose Mourinho has been sacked by Tottenham Hotspur, according to multiple reports coming out of England on Monday morning.

Understandably, fans and neutrals alike have been shocked by the sudden news and although not entirely unsurprising, it comes in the midst of a huge footballing flashpoint and with a Carabao Cup final looming. Tottenham have won five of their last 14 games in the Premier League, were knocked out of the FA Cup by Everton and surrendered a two-goal advantage against Dinamo Zagreb in the Europa League.

Despite having the possibility to win their first major trophy since 2008, Spurs sit seventh in the Premier League and could miss out on European football next season - though what will it matter given European Super League plans?

It's claimed that Lamela is popular among the rest of the Tottenham squad, whislt Jose Mourinho admitted in February that he "loves" Lamela. The legendary Portuguese manager came to the club with hopes of resurrecting his steadily declining career but, as per an official announcement, it has been confirmed that Jose and his coaching staff have been "relieved of their duties". Jose is a true professional who showed enormous resilience during the pandemic.

"He will always be welcome here and we should like to thank him and his coaching staff for their contribution", Mr Levy added.

"Ryan Mason will take First Team training today and a further update will follow in due course".

The former Porto, Chelsea, Inter Milan, Real Madrid and Manchester United boss was appointed in November 2019, less than 12 hours after Mauricio Pochettino had been dismissed.
