US border agents in recent months arrested two Yemeni men on a terror watchlist in separate incidents as they crossed the border with Mexico illegally, Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announced Monday.

"As a constant reminder to the public, if you see something out of the ordinary near the coast, don't hesitate to call authorities", said Chief Patrol Agent Aaron Heitke. By Tuesday morning, though, the release had been removed from the CBP website and has not been republished.

The men, arrested in January and March near a port of entry in California, were on a US government watchlist for terrorism suspects and a no-fly list, CBP said in a press release. In addition to discovering that the migrant was on both watch lists, border patrol also "found a cellular phone sim card hidden underneath the insole of his shoe" before transferring him into Immigration and Customs Enforcement custody.

Agents arrested the first illegal alien, a 33-year-old male, on January 29 in the middle of the night.

As Breitbart News reported, the CBP report revealed that on March 30, Border Patrol agents in southern California apprehended a 26-year-old illegal alien from Yemen.

Border Patrol agents said the four people were spotted by an agent just after 6 a.m. near Seacoast Drive and Admiralty Way as they were walking along the beach. CBP did not say if the crossings were related, but did release pictures of both men with their eyes blacked out. "Today, like every other day, our agents did that".

Robert Daniels, the press officer listed on the archived post, did not return a request for comment.
