BC reports another 1,889 COVID cases between Saturday and Monday

Broken down by specific health region, the new infections equate to 579 new cases of COVID-19 in the Vancouver Coastal Health region, 986 new cases in the Fraser Health region, 100 in the Island Health region, 129 in the Interior Health region, and 95 in the Northern Health region.

The latest Department of Health report on Tuesday showed 108 new cases of COVID-19 in Luzerne County and no new deaths.

The agency on Monday reported 138 active cases in the county.

"Combined, this results in a four-day case count of 4,040 new cases, for a total of 104,061 cases in British Columbia to date", say Henry and Dix.

There are 318 individuals in hospital with COVID-19, with the number of people in intensive care rising to an all-time high of 96 patients. The remaining people with COVID-19 are recovering at home in self-isolation.

So far, 893,590 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered, including 87,472 second doses.

She said that 23 people in B.C. had died from COVID-19 since April 1, bringing that tally to 1,486.

And as CKPG reported earlier today, the Province is moving ahead with its COVID-19 Immunization Plan ahead of schedule, and launching "Get Vaccinated", B.C.'s online and telephone registration and booking system.

The Indiana Department of Health updated the school COVID-19 dashboard Monday where 387 new student cases were listed from October 26 to April 2, 54 new teacher cases from March 10 to April 1, and 58 new staff COVID-19 cases from March 16 to April 2.
