Warm Monday in store, pop up showers possible

More of the same is expected on Tuesday with partly cloudy skies, warm temperatures, and an isolated shower or thunderstorm. Temperatures also start to cool down as winds shift out of the east.

Shower chances will increase late Thursday with highs in the lower 70s. The better chance for wet weather and appreciable rainfall arrives Thursday-Saturday as the main low pressure system approaches from the west.

TODAY: Mostly cloudy to partly sunny and warm with a few showers and thundershowers mainly this morning. Wind: S 10-15 miles per hour. An umbrella and rain boots will be good to have on hand, as the chance for rain showers is prevalent. Lows in the lower 50s.

Salt Lake City Sunday: Partly cloudy and warm. Highs will be in the mid 70s.

The eastern half of the Eastern Cape will be fine and cool, but partly cloudy in the south, becoming cloudy, with rain from the afternoon. As winds turn more southerly mid week, highs will quickly return to the mid 80s, with upper 80s possible by Friday. Highs in the middle 70s.

On Monday, the day of the Cleveland Indians' home opener, the forecast includes a slight chance of showers between 2-3 p.m.; first pitch is set for 4:10 p.m. A bit cooler temperatures with highs in the upper 60s.
