Michetti is now facing charges for his alleged conduct January 6 after prosecutors said someone with whom Michetti had a "prior romantic relationship" shared with law enforcement texts and videos that he'd sent her during the attack.

"Andrew Alan Hernandez, 44, was identified by a coworker who recognized him in a news photo of rioters who stormed the Capitol in an attempt to stop Congress from certifying Joe Biden's victory over incumbent Donald Trump in the November presidential election, according to an Federal Bureau of Investigation statement filed in U.S. District Court in Washington", reported Michael Finnegan.

According to several reports, Richard Michetti texted his ex-girlfriend during the Capitol riot to say she was "a moron" if she didn't believe the election was stolen. The Ridley Park, Pa., resident was arraigned Tuesday in U.S. District Court in Philadelphia and released on unsecured bail with electronic monitoring, reports the Morning Call.

Capitol security cameras show Richard Michetti, of Ridley Park, inside the Capitol during the January 6 riot, authorities say in charging documents.

'If you can't see the election was stolen you're a moron. this is our country do you think we live like kings because no one sacrificed anything?' Michetti then texted. The argument stemmed from him sending photos and videos from the riot to his ex, who remains unnamed.

"This is tyranny", he texted her later that evening. Numerous alleged rioters were identified by law enforcement through text messages sent to family and friends that bragged of their presence in D.C. last month.

Just after 2 p.m., Michetti texted the woman, saying: 'It's going down here we stormed the building they held us back with spray and teargas and paintballs'. Minutes later, he wrote, "Gotta stop the vote it's fraud this is our country".

He told his ex, "my eyes are burnitin" [sic] and "thousands of people storming".

According to the court document, the messages also included two videos that showed him both inside and outside of the Capitol building.

Law enforcement used additional clues to identify Michetti and place him at the scene.

When investigators returned to the woman with pictures purportedly showing Michetti standing among the crowds of rioters and inside the Capitol, she was able to identify him. The FBI also got a receipt from Michetti's one-night stay at a hotel one block away from the Capitol that showed he had checked out on the day of the insurrection.
