Pandemic, confronting climate change, economic recovery, defending democratic values and military alliances - these are the main topics at Tuesday's virtual meeting between US President Joe Biden and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

The White House isn't leaving much wiggle room for Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to escape Joe Biden's Buy American rules.

Trudeau, in turn, commended Biden for quickly rejoining the Paris climate accord, a worldwide pact to curb climate emissions that President Donald Trump walked away from early in his term.

"US leadership has been sorely missed over the past, uh, past years", he said in a not so hidden dig at Trump.

Wallensky said they would be 'comfortable, easy to wear and when worn will prevent infection and we believe these masks will do so'.

Biden administration officials reportedly meeting with USA "arch-enemy" Iran in order to undermine the Trump administration is "behavior that has to be called out", according to Fox News senior strategic analyst Gen. Jack Keane. Obviously, COVID and how we're going to keep our citizens safe is top of mind.

Supply chain issues faced at the onset of the Covid-19 and shortfall of personal protective equipment felt at that time partly prompted the executive order.

Former diplomat Michael Kovrig and businessman Michael Spavor were arrested in China in 2018 in what was seen as likely retaliation for the arrest in Vancouver of Huawei executive Meng Wanzhou that year on a USA warrant. She denies the allegations. Over the past four years, Tai has worked as the chief counsel for Democrats on the U.S. House Ways and Means Committee responsible for trade.

Trudeau's broadside of Trump was a notable coda to a relationship marked by some notably undiplomatic moments. He travelled only once to Canada for a G7 meeting in 2018, and blasted Trudeau for being "very dishonest and weak" after he left. S. expert and president of the D.C. -based Rideau Potomac Strategy Group, said the synchronicity between the two leaders is why Trudeau needs to seize the moment.

Trudeau also thanked Biden for reiterating U.S. support for the release of two Canadians held by China, Michael Spavor and Michael Kovrig.

Biden and Trudeau did not take questions after delivering their remarks.

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer said he is asking the chamber's top Democrats and Republicans to draw up legislation aimed at improving US competitiveness with China in manufacturing and technology, including bolstering the supply of American-made semiconductors. They are the ones who need the United States.

Although numerous issues were discussed at length, there was no talk of Canadian access to American-made vaccines or any exemption for Biden's buy American policies. Canada now is getting vaccines shipped from a Pfizer plant in Belgium.

The two leaders intend to resurrect the North American Leaders' Summit - a trilateral meeting of Canada, the US and Mexico, more commonly known as the "Three Amigos" summit, which hasn't been convened since 2016.

The officials declined to say whether there would be other similar high-level meetings before Biden's Earth Day gathering, including whether Kerry has spoken to his Chinese counterpart. Mr Biden's team offered the same message to Mr Trudeau privately.

Biden also used the call last month to explain his decision to halt building of the Keystone XL pipeline.

During Tuesday's press briefing, Fox News reporter Peter Doocy asked Psaki why the Biden administration was reopening the facility.

Mr. Biden also rescinded a Trump order allowing the Defense Department to exclude itself from collective bargaining requirements.
