Rep. McCaul Applauds AOC Crossing Party Lines to Help Texas Storm Victims

"While President Trump repeatedly attacks the New York Times and other purveyors of 'fake news, ' New York Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is targeting her own media foe: the New York Post", reports Yahoo News.

Rep. Garcia said the state's response "could be better", and called for an investigation of the debacle.

Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) announced Thursday that she has raised $1 million for Texas relief efforts and will visit the state this weekend.

Ocasio-Cortez called for volunteers to help out, although the application form now appears to be closed.

The announcement came hours after the congresswoman said she was raising money for five separate Texas organizations Thursday evening.

The organizations did reach the goal before midnight, according to Ocasio-Cortez.

Ocasio-Cortez also tweeted video from inside the food bank, writing "We hit $3.2 MILLION in Texas relief support last night!"

Texas was slowly getting back to some semblance of normalcy after the fierce snow storm and historic Arctic blast all but brought the nation's second most-populous state to its knees.

Ocasio-Cortez spoke for several minutes, and took pains to tell residents that the food bank would provide aid "no questions asked" and regardless of immigration status. "Texans should continue to demand his resignation", she said.
