IHIT investigating after fatal assault at Surrey home

Homicide detectives are investigating the death of a man in Surrey, B.C. RCMP say they were called Wednesday night to a report of an assault at a home in the Panorama Ridge area of south Surrey.

Police were called to the house in the 5500-block of 125 Street just after 8:30 p.m. PT, according to a statement.

Mounties and paramedics tried to save the man's life, but he died.

Homicide investigators told CTV News the incident was isolated and the two parties were from the same family and same household.

RCMP said one person has been arrested and remains in custody.

No other details about the men were provided by police.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has launched an investigation following a fatal assault at a home in Surrey.

The critically injured man was found outside the home.

Police arrested a young man in view of media members who were covering the crime scene.

"He saw the son sleeping in our shed ... when he woke him, he didn't know where he was", Gill said.
