Princess Latifa Al Maktoum has spoken about a controversial lunch in Dubai with Mary Robinson where she said that they only discussed a limited number of subjects. Her current whereabouts and condition are unknown.

The princess claimed she'd been drugged and beaten while in jail, and tried to escape her homeland in 2018.

He said the United Kingdom did not have a direct locus in the case and the right mechanism was to deal with it through the UN.

She said: 'I then said to them, look, I can write to the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Michelle Bachelet and attach those photographs as proof of life.

Ms Robinson now says she feels "horribly tricked" by the family of Princess Latifa, who sent a number of video messages from the place where she alleges she is being held captive.

"There are five policemen outside and two policewomen inside the house and I can't even go outside to get any fresh air".

The United Nations has said it will raise the detention of Princess Latifa with the authorities in the UAE.

By the time the first video was released, activist groups representing Latifa said she had already tried to make an escape from captivity, with a yacht in which she was traveling intercepted in worldwide waters near India by an unknown but heavily armed group.

Shamsa was abducted from Cambridge in 2000, when she was 18-years old and taken back to the UAE.

The footage shows Princess Latifa saying: 'I'm a hostage.

Sheikh Mohammed's family life again became a public matter in 2020.

She said she was filming the video from a bathroom, the only room could lock herself into.

"She hasn't seen sunlight for months", Jauhiainen told the BBC's Panorama, whose investigation found that up to 30 police officers have been guarding the beachside villa where she was being held. In April 2019, his former wife Princess Haya of Jordan left Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum accompanied by her two kids and moved to live in the United Kingdom, where she launched a number of legal actions against him, accusing him of mistreatment and of trying to marry off their 11-year old daughter Jalila to the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia.

Friends and supporters said she disappeared after commandos stormed a boat carrying her off the coast of India after she fled the emirate. The ruling came in a High Court custody battle between Sheikh Mohammed and UK-based estranged wife Princess Haya, daughter of the late King Hussein of Jordan. "She cried for a long time".

Former Irish president Ms Robinson was criticised by human rights groups after she travelled to Dubai in 2018 to meet Sheikha Latifa, daughter of Sheikh Al-Maktoum.

In a video clip, obtained by BBC Panorama and supplied to CNN ahead of "The Missing Princess" documentary airing Tuesday night, Princess Latifa says: "I'm a hostage".

When it was suggested that Princess Latifa's detention would constitute torture, he replied: "Conceivably it could do if there's the evidence and those facts are right".
