Marshall County Reports 62nd COVID Death

No new deaths have been reported since January 31, leaving the death total at 63.

Yesterday, there were 53 new cases confirmed locally, leading to an incidence rate rise to 263.7 per 100,000 people across the last fortnight.

Salemi says part of that dip could be contributed to the main strain becoming more seasonal like the flu, but that may not be the case for the new variants. Toledo reported one new case.

So far, 123,507 COVID-19 cases have been designated as recovered by the New Mexico Department of Health.

Stratton also wrote before the state announced the shipping delays that it was not clear how many vaccine doses Boulder County would receive this week. (The agency did not report yesterday due to the provincial Family Day holiday). A total of 41,635 coronavirus doses have been administered in Boulder County.

"As a scientist and somebody who has worked in the field of vaccines for quite a long time, this is actually incredibly exciting and positive news that we have this very high level of protection in seniors here in B.C. from the first dose of the vaccine", Henry said. "We're also working with community partners to hold other clinics, outreach events, mobile events and pop-up clinics in our community".

Public Health Ontario has reported 904 new cases of COVID-19 today and an additional 964 cases from the previous.

An additional 195 deaths have been reported with the Western Cape recording 62, followed by Gauteng at 58 and the North West at 30. The death toll remains is at 42.

Unauthorized social gatherings are responsible for four out of every 10 cases of COVID-19 in B.C. and a surge in exposures linked to schools, according to the province's top doctor. Another 426 probable deaths have been reported based on clinical diagnoses in patients for whom no positive test is on record.

NRPH confirmed 14 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, and reported no new deaths.

In the USA, over 27.7 million cases had been reported as of Tuesday with 488,000 deaths, according to Johns Hopkins University data. The aim is to see it consistently below one, which is how many people on average a single case is transmitting to.
