Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes was among 20 people slated to receive a haircut from the barber who tested positive for COVID on Sunday, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Wednesday.

A quarantine for close contact would be lifted in time for both players to join the Chiefs on the team charter flight to Florida the day before Super Bowl LV, provided each player tests negative throughout the week.

The Chiefs had to isolate two players this week when it was revealed that a barber with COVID-19 cut their hair. The barber found out he was positive while he was in the process of cutting Chiefs center Daniel Kilgore's hair.

"The NFL has done a great job with it, presenting different safety things for the players to stay as safe as possible", said Chiefs coach Andy Reid, who noted that he was first notified of the situation Sunday. "We've been hammering this point home forever".

"It's an unfortunate thing".

Robinson was a useful part of the team's wide receiver corps with 45 catches for 466 yards and three touchdowns in the regular season.
