Richard Lewis 'crushed' he can't return to 'Curb Your Enthusiasm'

Richard Lewis is "crushed" the multiple surgeries he has undergone over the past year mean he won't be able to star in the 11th season of Curb Your Enthusiasm.

For 20 years, I had the greatest comedy gig I could have ever imagined with my oldest and dearest friend LD.

Curb Your Enthusiasm scored a Season 11 renewal in June 2020, though there's now no premiere timetable for the new episodes; the show is known to go on extended hiatuses between seasons, namely the six-year break between Seasons 8 and 9 in 2011 and 2017. Hope to be there for Season 12!

Lewis officially made the announcement via Twitter on Monday night.

"What a ride, LD!"

While I obviously understand what he was saying, it's amusing to think about Richard Lewis not being in Curb Your Enthusiasm because he "endured a back". "I" ll be watching... Lewis has been a cast member of David's cringe-comedy saga since the series' launch, though he now finds himself having to willfully watch from the sidelines.

Larry David will have to find someone else to put through the emotional wringer when the eleventh season of Curb Your Enthusiasm makes its way onto HBO.

David will once again be seen playing a fictionalised version of himself as he stumbles from one faux-pas to the next.

Lewis is also known for his roles in the 1993 film "Robin Hood: Men in Tights" and the TV show "7th Heaven" in the early 2000s.
