Furthermore, it seems that only iPhone users were affected, rather than those using Android or other devices. Then you must have faced a situation yesterday (Friday) where you had to log in to the app again.

Facebook isn't down, but it did start an odd trending topic on Twitter Friday night as confused iPhone owners tried to figure out why the social network logged them out.

Users who had set up two-factor authentication on their accounts were also having trouble logging back in, as there were long delays in the sending out of text messages for those who elected for SMS-based codes.

"We're looking into reports of people being logged out and having to login again to access their Facebook accounts", tweeted Facebook.

"We're looking into reports that some people are now having to login again to access their Facebook accounts", Facebook told BleepingComputer.

The Mark Zuckerberg-owned company said that they were working to resolve the problem "as quickly as possible".

As per a report by Engadget, a Facebook spokesperson confirmed the issue and claimed the service is working on getting things back to normal soon.

This unexpected logout from the Facebook iOS app comes around the same time when both Apple and Facebook are having a cold war over capturing user data for personalised ads and granular permissions in iOS 14.
