ARES Design is an Italian design house that specialise in building cars to individual specifications.

Not willing to wait for the new Tesla Roadster, one vehicle enthusiast demanded a Tesla convertible, immediately.

Ares Design removed the existing roof, and rear doors, turning the Model S into a new two-door design.

Privately commissioned by an Ares Design client, the bright white Model S has undergone a dramatic transformation. It turns the electric four-door saloon into a two-door convertible.

The process started with the removal of the roof, central B-pillars, and rear doors, after which the wheelbase was shortened and new doors fabricated to span the sides of the body.

Now that its interior is reconfigured, Ares has also completely re-upholstered the cabin, especially at the rear which is now accessed through the front.

However, the engineers reinforced the chassis to compensate for the loss of the roof, particularly at the sides, beneath the cockpit and around the rear seats.

Inside, Ares fitted custom-made rear seats and decked out the entire interior in ice-white leather trim with orange detailing. A bespoke Tesla Model S Shooting Brake, created by Niels van Roij Design, added £80,000 ($110,000) plus taxes to the price of the base vehicle. Ran by ex-Lotus boss Dany Bahar, ARES Design has produced a number of bespoke one-off supercars and meticulously reengineered cars.

Ares also added a custom carbon-fiber body kit, which would make a nice addition to a standard Model S sedan, too.
