Acer's latest convertible Chromebooks are built for classroom mayhem

It can withstand leaks of 330 ml of water or other liquids, and the keys are mechanically assembled for extra protection against removal.

Acer Chromebook 511 and Chromebook 511 have been designed keeping in mind the toy safety standards. The new TravelMate Spin is powered by the latest Intel Pentium Silver (the chipmaker's line of low-power microprocessors) models and can last up to 12 hours between charges. The 311 dispatches this month in North America and is estimated beginning at $299.99, while the 511 is coming in April beginning at $399.99. In Europe, the laptop has been priced at Euro 399 (roughly Rs 35,400) and will be available in March.

Acer Chromebook Spin 511 and Spin 512 both feature scratch-resistant, Antimicrobia, Corning Gorilla Glass touch display. There is also an antimicrobial coating to keep away odor and stain-causing bacteria, and it extends to the entire keyboard deck including the spill-resistant keyboard, touchpad, and palm rests.
