An early release would allow the Taiwan-based company to take on the year's first wave of "mainstream" flagships from top smartphone vendors like Samsung, Huawei, or Xiaomi for a change, although if history is any indication, the ROG Phone 4 could see daylight in China several months in advance of Western markets like the US.

The ROG Phone 4 should also support reverse wired charging, Quick Charge 4, and Power Delivery.

According to the image, the upcoming phone might sport a redesigned rear panel. Similarly, the next-generation Asus ROG Phone 4 will reportedly support 65W fast charging, unlike the 30W option on its predecessor.

Interestingly, there is a bright red color button located at the bottom left corner of the upcoming handset.

The camera module is also visible in the leaked images of the Asus ROG Phone successor. It may come with a triple camera setup with a 64MP primary lens. The ROG Phone 3 houses dual, front-facing speakers and features GameCool 3 heat dissipating system.

As for the actual name of the device we get a hint it might end up as the ROG Phone 5 due to the tendency of Chinese makers skipping the number 4 which is jinxed in Chinese culture. However, ASUS isn't a Chinese company, it's Taiwanese. It's hard to say by which model name the company is planning to launch the gaming smartphone.

This is the same device that was previously benchmarked on Geekbench with the Snapdragon 888 chipset, 8GB RAM and Android 11. We assume that this white stripe will light up when the phone is on. A teaser image shows the Aries constellation.

Black Shark and Asus are making their moves right now in the gaming range. iQOO is set to launch the iQOO 7 with Snapdragon 888 soon, but it also feels like a standard smartphone. While we are not sure what it is, we speculate that it is the button that would activate gaming mode.
