The midfielder actually stood as quite a prominent figure for Spurs over the early weeks of the campaign.

Winks has started just five Premier League games this term, coming off the bench twice, but he has been a main stay in the Europa League, featuring in five games during the group stages.

Mourinho also denied Winks could be on the move amid reports that the midfielder wants a switch to Spain, with Valencia said to be interested in a loan deal for the England global.

Today #Valenciacf has made a second offer for #HarryWinks after first one was rejected.

Balague shared that the La Liga giants are willing to pay all of Winks' wages, but the stumbling block for the Spurs man's signature is a potential loan fee.

On Tuesday, though, Jose Mourinho has moved to play down such links.

Tottenham boss Mourinho had a short, sharp reaction to the out-of-favour former Germany international's social media post in a news conference ahead of the London derby at Fulham on Wednesday.

"What do I have to say to stop with this talk? I said already that he's going nowhere", he said.

Of all the transfers you could have predicted before the transfer window, Harry Winks to Valencia was never going to be one of them.

Deporte Valenciano have the latest, explaining the chairman "does not intend" to let Winks go "for nothing", and while the OK is there from the player, it doesn't exist with Spurs. "If someone's talking to other clubs I'd say don't waste your time".
