The plan was to return to hybrid learning January 19.

High school students are slated to return to more in-person learning at the start of the semester, unless they choose the remote learning route.

If the COVID-19 positivity rate is above 10% for two weeks, the union could ask to go back to the bargaining table with district officials.

The board made the decision Tuesday. "Our Governing Board has chose to delay in-person hybrid learning until we receive a recommendation from the Pima County Health Department that it is safe to do so".

Elementary students will remain in their current schedule of five days a week, in-person learning. "A reopening date has not been set".
