Andra Day lets out her voice in the first trailer for The United States vs. Billie Holiday. The biography depicts the jazz singer's tumultuous relationship with a Narcotics agent who is investigating her.

The film focuses on Holiday's dealings with federal brokers, who allegedly started to focus on her as a effect of her alcohol and drug abuse.

Watch Day step into the chaotic life of Billie Holiday in the new trailer for The United States vs. Billie Holiday below. In a ceremony that should be remembered for the troubled period of the releases, with few premieres in cinemas and a leading role in streaming platforms, Holiday's biopic can gain a certain protagonism during the ceremony. NAACP Image Award (R) Nominee Trevante Rhodes and Emmy (R) Nominee Natasha Lyonne co-star along with Garrett Hedlund, Miss Lawrence, Rob Morgan, Da'Vine Joy Randolph, Evan Ross, Tyler James Williams, Tone Bell, and Erik LaRay Harvey.

"The United States vs. Billie Holiday" is scheduled to be released on February 26 on Hulu. At the time, it was not confirmed whether or not the film would make it to theaters too, but last week, Paramount officially pulled it from its theatrical schedule, making it a Hulu-exclusive debut. Though Holiday was targeted as part of the growing effort to escalate and radicalize the war on drugs, as the film shows, the government had ulterior motives.

In a statement announcing the movie's upcoming release, director Lee Daniels said: "Whether you are new to the story and legacy of Billie Holiday or know every note she ever sang, I do hope our celebration of this complex woman does justice to a great musical legend and civil rights activist whose artistry resonates as well today, as it did 80 years ago".
