Sarah Campbell of 'Election' and 'Freaks and Geeks' Dead at 38

Jessica Campbell - the former actress best known for her role as Tammy Metzler in "Election" - died suddenly and unexpectedly last month. according to her family. The Election star died unexpectedly last month, her family has confirmed to TMZ. Having retired from acting, she worked as a naturopathic physician.

The star died "suddenly and unexpectedly" on December 29, leaving behind her 10-year-old son, Oliver, Campbell's cousin Sarah Wessling confirmed on a GoFundMe page.

She went on to explain that after she came home, Jessica went to the bathroom but never returned. We're told the aunt tried to revive her but couldn't, and neither could EMTs when they arrived. Her family did not think it was COVID-19, but an autopsy has not yet been concluded. The results of an autopsy by the Multnomah County Medical Examiner have not yet been shared by her family.

In the film Election, Jessica played Tammy Metzler, the younger sister to the character played by Chris Klein.

"She was fun, she was loud, she was compassionate and loyal; no matter what she did, she was always uniquely Jessica", Wessling said.

The Alexander Payne film was about an type-A student, played by Reese, who tries to manipulate her way into becoming school president.

The Oklahoma native leaves behind a 10-year-old son Oliver and her husband of 11 years, Daniel.

Jessica then became a guest star on hit TV series Freaks and Geeks.

She went on to star in more films including The Safety of Objects and Junk before she made a decision to quit her acting career.

More than $22,000 has been donated so far, including a $5,000 donation by Freaks and Geeks' executive producer, Judd Apatow.

"While coping with this unexpected and tragic turn of events and planning for Oliver's future, the family is also faced with unexpected cremation, memorial, and probate expenses".
