West Virginia center and former five-star prospect Oscar Tshiebwe engaged in Kentucky, choosing the Wildcats over offers and interests from Illinois, Miami (FL) and Carolina State of the North, among others.

Tshiebwe chose the Wildcats over Miami, NC State and IL. West Virginia announced on January 1 that the sophomore forward was stepping away from the program.

Tshiebwe entered the National Basketball Association draft last summer before withdrawing his name, and sources told ESPN he could test the draft waters again this spring. The Lubumbashi, Democratic Republic of the Congo native and Kennedy Catholic (PA) H.S. grad led the Mountaineers in scoring (11.2 points) and rebounding (9.3) as a freshman.

The sophomore played 10 games for West Virginia this season and averaged 8.5 points and 7.8 rebounds per contest. He was named All-Big 12 Conference Second Team.
