Louis Vuitton announced that they have enlisted the beloved tennis star to become its new brand ambassador.

The financial terms of the agreement were not made public, but The Action Network's Darren Rovell described it as a "seven-figure" deal. He also shot the campaign.

The sports star has been photographed by the luxury brand's Artistic Director of Women's Collections, Nicolas Ghesquière, for their 2021 spring collection campaign.

The sponsorship comes on the back of an eventful 2020 for Osaka, who on her way to winning the US Open was widely praised for her support of the Black Lives Matter (BLM) movement during the tournament. "Honored to be @louisvuitton newest House Ambassador", she wrote. Her career and convictions are inspiring.

Osaka further expressed her joy in joining the Louis Vuitton team and explained on IG that she's brought her mother an LV bag every year since she was 16 and how the ambassadorship has brought her fondness for the brand full circle. "To become global brand ambassador is truly a dream come true for me", she continued.

While Osaka's taste for wearing agenda-setting labels has spanned the likes of Comme des Garçons and Sacai in the past, she first wore Louis Vuitton for her appearance on the cover of Vogue's January issue, which debuted last month.

"#NaomiOsaka for #LouisVuitton", Louis Vuitton posted on their Instagram.
