Former United defender Rio Ferdinand feels those minutes on the pitch may need to come sooner rather than later, with the former Ajax attacking midfielder expecting to have been involved far more before now and Ferdinand feeling he may look elsewhere if he doesn't see minutes on the pitch. "As long as I've got the manager's trust, I'm happy doing my job".

"The most important thing in the cup is that you go through so that will make everyone happy, but the first 15-20 minutes I think were the highlights of our game", he added.

Dean Henderson gets in goal once again in a cup match, while Axel Tuanzebe, Brandon Williams and Alex Telles all get the chance to play in defence.

"I'm delighted we are through".

They claim it all started in the summer, with Lingard being offered to Milan, and the Rossoneri turning down the 28-year-old's transfer. The opposite happened more or less. "I've been at this club since I was five years old, so 18 or 19 years, so it's a huge honor. I love this club and it has been my whole life".

Scott McTominay starts in midfield along with Donny van de Beek so Fred and Nemanja Matic are named among the Manchester United substitutes.

"For the first half-hour we were really good, we moved the ball".

"Then we couldn't find it after that as well". Then in the second half, we didn't play anywhere near our best.

"For the boys coming into the team it is hard, they haven't played for a long time. But then there were some exhausted minds, but credit to the boys".
