Dane County was the second and last county to finish its recount, reporting a 45-vote gain for Trump. The county clerk said Dane County had finished its recount on Sunday - a few days after Milwaukee County finished its own.

As required by state law, the Trump campaign has paid 3 million US dollars for the recount. Biden carried the state by about 20,600 votes, and the state will certify statewide results on Tuesday.

Trump vowed to challenge the outcome in court even before the recount - for which he had paid $US3 million - ended.

Aides say Trump has discussed starting a television channel or social media company to keep himself in the spotlight ahead of a potential 2024 White House bid. Lawsuits in Pennsylvania were rejected, both by the state's Supreme Court and a federal appeals court.

Biden won with 306 Electoral College votes - only 270 are required - to Trump's 232.

The Wisconsin recount is part of the president's efforts to overturn the results in several key battleground states, where his team believes mass fraud and irregularities have been conducted on the part of Democrats to put Biden ahead.

"While Trump was on the course, major news networks started calling the election for Joe Biden, projecting he will become the 46th President of the United States".
