When Brexit was announced, it was widely accepted that it would make life more hard for British citizens. It then goes onto specify that the actor must have a European, and not a British European, passport due to the forthcoming Brexit rules.

The role in question is for a young Prince William.

Casting director Amy Hubbard shared a casting call on Twitter, seeking someone to play the Duke of Cambridge at the age of 11.

In a subsequent tweet, Hubbard clarified the rules, saying: "It's common on films that the passport for significant characters needs to match that of the financiers".

Directed by Jackie's Pablo Larraín, Spencer is scheduled to begin shooting in Germany from early 2021 - just after the United Kingdom leaves the European Union in January. Kirsten Stewart is portraying Princess Diana.

In a report late Thursday, the Independent newspaper said that Camilla Parker Bowles, the Duchess of Cornwall and the second wife of Prince Charles, has been receiving online abuse due to her portrayal in the Netflix drama. "I'm working on it now and already have my dialect coach". Kristen has said about the film: 'It's one of the saddest stories to exist ever and I don't want to just play Diana - I want to know her implicitly'.

A number of actresses have played Diana in the past.

Diana was previously tackled on the big screen in a 2013 film by director Oliver Hirschbiegel, in which Naomi Watts played the princess and received an array of negative reviews.

The UK royal family "cannot stomach" watching "The Crown" despite the popularity of the Netflix series which is based on the reign of Queen Elizabeth II, according to a royal commentator.

The two remaining seasons will be the last ones before the show officially ends with Princess Diana's death in 1997.
