At it's unveiling last night, Apple did a spectacular job of showcasing the consumer benefits of 5G, which included everything from creating fast live streaming video to downloading an album of music in a second. This is the first major revamp of iPhone's design since iPhone X in 2017.

Apple's new 5G smartphone series is expected to see significant sales momentum, with shipments for iPhone 12 devices standing a chance of hitting as many as 80 million units by the end of 2020, although the U.S. vendor is looking to build an inventory of 71-75 million units for this year. Both of these iPhones will feature a faster 5G cellular network, with those sold in the USA also including the ultra-fast millimeter wave version. The iPhone 12 Mini and iPhone 12 Pro Max will be made available for pre-ordering in India from November 6.

There is but one difference between the iPhone 12 mini and the regular iPhone 12, and that's size. The new dual-camera setup with ultra-wide and HDR video recording support will also serve those who want to take nice shots for social media.

The newly designed iPhone 12 models feature expansive edge-to-edge Super Retina XDR displays, and a new Ceramic Shield front cover. Whereas, the smaller, thinner and lighter iPhone 12 mini starts at $699 in the USA, £699 in the United Kingdom and AU$1,199 in Australia.

The new iPhone 12 series features a new flat design similar to the iPhone 4 series.

The latter had a 6.7 inch screen, the largest ever installed on an iPhone.

One of the niftiest features of the iPhone 12 series is MagSafe wireless charging, which aligns the wireless charging pad to the iPhone with magnets. The iPhone 12 Pro Max will set you back at least $1,099, but you're unlikely to regret it thanks to a massive 6.7-inch display, the biggest battery of the bunch, and most importantly, the best set of cameras you'll find on a new iPhone this year.

The iPhone 12 box will not have a power adapter and EarPods and they would need to be purchased separately. The iPhone 12 launch event will be streamed on Apple's official website and on YouTube.

When can you get your iPhone 12?

Of all four new iPhones, the $699 iPhone 12 mini has by far the easiest sales pitch: It's tiny.

The iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 12 will be available in Black, Blue, Green, Product (RED), and White colour variants, while the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max will be available in Gold, Graphite, Pacific Blue, and Silver colour.
