Hockey Canada: Today's Red-White game postponed due to COVID-19

Everyone involved in the selection camp took mandatory COVID-19 tests both upon arrival and continuously over the last 10 days, in accordance with Hockey Canada protocol.

The two players have been quarantined at the team's hotel in Red Deer, Alberta.

The organization confirmed the positive tests in a statement on Tuesday, saying that a scheduled game had been postponed following the news.

Team Canada's World Junior Selection camp has been paused temporarily after two players at the camp tested positive for COVID-19.

Now there are 46 players attending the evaluation camp, which is being used to determine the roster for the upcoming IIHF World Junior Championship to be held in Edmonton from December 25 to January 5.

Canada's first exhibition game is scheduled for Dec. 23 against Russian Federation and the official tournament, held in Edmonton, kicks off on Boxing Day (Dec. 26) when Canada takes on Germany. 5, with no fans in attendance and in a secure zone similar to what the National Hockey League used during the Stanley Cup Playoffs last season.
