Another PlayStation 5 firmware update has been released today by game company Sony Interactive Entertainment. This is its function.

The newest update, version 20.02-02.26.00, is out now and ready to download when PS5 owners boot up their system. Below is a screenshot of the smallest patch notes.

For the second week running, Sony has dropped a PS5 system update created to improve system performance - but it's still unclear what the patch specifically changes. I missed that initial late night pre-order window as I was asleep when Sony said there would be "plenty of advance notice", but I was eventually able to snag a "just in case" pre-order through Sony's official storefront system. Hopefully, this new update addresses some of the ongoing crash issues that some players are still experiencing.

We will update as soon as we learn more about this new system update for Sony consoles.

The PlayStation 5 Now available worldwide, however you will be hard pressed to actually find one. According to Sony, the console has sold out worldwide.

"We want to thank gamers everywhere for making the PS5 launch our biggest console launch ever", the PlayStation Twitter account reads.
