Meghan Markle has 'grown apart' from former best friend Jessica Mulroney

Speaking to The Post about the scandal, sources claimed Jessica battled "severe depression and suicidal thoughts", revealing: 'Jess couldn't talk without crying.

She added that people who have accused her of "cashing in" on her friendship with the royal couldn't be more wrong; she makes a rule of not talking about Meghan to the press. She didn't feel like herself on medication anymore, and she didn't want to talk to anyone. Even replying to text messages was tedious. Her friend Meghan Markle therefore left her behind. Her Instagram was full of glossy girls' trips with Markle. "And that, my friends, gave her the momentary confidence to come for my livelihood in writing", Exeter said in a video on Instagram.

Meghan and Jessica's friendship reportedly hit the rocks back in June after Jessica Mulroney's threats to sue Black influencer Sasha Exeter.

Although the two were acquainted only online, Exeter said Mulroney "took offense", believing the call to action was aimed at her. "As I told you privately, I have lived a very public and personal experience with my closest friend where race was front and center".

It told how Meghan and Harry spent time with the Mulroneys, part of the Canadian political dynasty, before their relationship was made public in 2016, and "hid out" at the family home when the news first broke.

"Meghan is absolutely mortified that she's been dragged into this complete mess".

Not saying a peep about Mulroney and her predicament since it happened is already quite telling though.

During that period, Jessica was accused of using the Duchess of Sussex as her "superpower". Mulroney disagrees. "CTV would ask me to go on shows and talk about Meghan; I refused", she told The Post.

"Listen, I am by no means calling Jess a racist but what I will say is this, she is very well aware of her wealth, her perceived power and privilege because of the color of her skin. I call it protecting my friend".

This scandal resulted in Jessica Mulroney losing her contract with Good Morning America.

A source in Markle's social crowd told The Post that, before the Exeter incident, friends had grown "concerned" about Mulroney's affluent image of social media.

According to her friends, the Canadian stylist, whose career soared and whose name became a household one after the highly-watched wedding, was effectively "canceled" after being labeled a racist by Instagram influencer Sasha Exeter.

Jessica has dismissed claims she and Meghan have "grown apart".
