The game will cost $4.99 at launch as part of an introductory offer, which is 75% of the game's RRP.

Should you purchase Red Dead Online standalone at the discounted introductory price of $4.99, you'll have the option to unlock the Red Dead Redemption 2: Story Mode as a separate add-on.

Rockstar previously revealed that GTA Online will be available as a standalone game next year.

Red Dead Redemption 2, which includes Red Dead Online, is immediately available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, and it is backwards compatible on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.

Forge your own path across any of five unique Specialist Roles.

Just before that happens, the Bounty Hunter will get an update. Red Dead Online will be available to buy separately all of the places Red Dead Redemption II is now sold, but it's $US5 ($7) price is only introductory, expiring on February 15, 2021.

And much more, including Free Roam Missions that can vary based on how noble or nefarious you are, public or private games of Poker, competitive Free Roam Events and Daily Challenges - all taking place in a world of astounding depth and detail. Of course, you'll need PlayStation Plus or Xbox Live Gold to engage with the game's multiplayer features.

Rockstar has announced that Red Dead Online will be going standalone at the start of December, available to purchase entirely separate from the Story mode from digital storefronts.
