The owner of a bar about to voluntarily close due to Covid-19 measures was shocked after a customer left an enormous tip.

Just before the restaurant closed Sunday, a customer walked in and ordered a single beer, Ring said.

Ring said the man wished him well and told him to share the tip with the four employees who were working brunch service. When Ring glanced at the receipt, he saw the man had left three too many zeros on the tip amount, or perhaps forgotten a decimal-or so he thought.

Ring said he ran after the man, thinking there had to have been a mistake, but the man said it was right and that he'd see them when the restaurant reopens.

"I could post his name but I won't as I think he wouldn't want that but all my waitstaff and myself are humbly grateful for this incredibly kind and grand gesture".
