Hitman's version will take place under the cover of rain, with the neon-drenched streets creating a flawless rain-soaked playground for players to take our their targets, all rendered in loving detail by the in-house Glacier engine.

Powered by IO Interactive's proprietary Glacier engine, HITMAN 3 will feature improvements to lighting, reflections, animation and AI. The game will follow the journey of Agent 47 at different localities and situations. The gameplay has been updated with fluidity and responsiveness in mind, while the game now supports more than 300 active NPC AIs to make its already huge crowds all behave in a more realistic and immersive fashion.

The new location is Chongqing, a city in South Western China that is one of the biggest cities in the world. NPCs play a significant role in the Hitman games as every mission includes submissions that require the players to interact with different NPCs.

IO is also promising to ship the game with Variable Rate Shading (VRS), which allows the shading rate to vary for different regions of each frame of the game.

Hitman 3 will launch on PC, PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.

On well-equipped PCs and the new generation of consoles, Hitman III will support 4K resolutions in HDR and 60 fps - and you'll see those improvements made to the locations from Hitman and Hitman II as well. Lastly, pre-orders of the game are live, and the game will release on 20th January 2021.
