But with injuries and coronavirus affecting the current campaign, the 33-year-old - who remains a free agent - took to social media to demonstrate his readiness to play.

Kaepernick, who sparked a national debate when he protested against racial injustice by kneeling during the US national anthem, posted on social media: "1,363 days of being denied employment". Still putting in the work with @E_Reid35. "#StillReady #StopRunning", Kaepernick wrote.

The video shows Kaepernick running drills, working out and practicing with former San Francisco 49ers teammate Eric Reid, who is also not signed to an National Football League team. In his latest clip posted to Twitter, Kaepernick offered up a hype video that displays his latest training sessions with Eric Reid. Specifically, this weekend, Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow went down with a season-ending knee injury. Last year, he was a productive member of the Carolina Panthers but after his contract ran out, he was unable to get a new deal and like Kaepernick, he is working hard to someday make a return. We'll have to wait and see.
