The tipster notes that Sony is working on a 5.5-inch smartphone under the Compact Xperia series, which is expected to launch in the first half of 2021. Both the phones are said to be the successor of the Xperia 1 II and Xperia 10 II respectively.

This might be a good opportunity for Sony to fit in into a new compact Android smartphone space after Apple revived the idea of compact smartphones with the launch of Apple iPhone 12 mini. The user further reveals that the smartphone may come with a 5.5-inch display. The report also says that unlike previous versions of compact Xperia phones, the upcoming phone is likely to get mid-range internals and it will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 775G processor. If reports are to be believed, this could be the Sony Xperia 1 III Compact, but nothing has been confirmed yet. The upcoming chipset from Qualcomm may go official soon and will be a successor to the Snapdragon 765/ 765G that went official earlier a year ago.

The alleged Sony Xperia 1 III and the 10 III will reportedly feature a compact design, at least a variant of it. However, the company, which could not achieve success in the smartphone market and stopped selling phones in our country, rolled up its sleeves for a new phone.

Next year Sony will introduce several interesting smartphones at once. However, we can expect to hear more about it in the coming days. Sony, which has previously brought its flagship performance to the small screen with its Compact series phones, has received great acclaim, but it did not receive the expected attention.
