Patriots activating RB Sony Michel from injured reserve

Michel hasn't played since Week 3 and was placed on IR on October 5 with a quad injury.

The New England Patriots will reportedly have their rushing attack at full strength as well as their star cornerback back in the fold Sunday against the Houston Texans. He has been dealing with a quad injury.

Michel totaled 173 yards on 26 attempts in his three games this season. It's unclear if he'll take over starting running back duties in his first game back from injury. The Patriots have made a decisive turn toward a power running approach in recent weeks - led by Harris and an athletic, hard-nosed offensive line - so having a stocked running back depth chart aids that approach. Meanwhile, the Patriots rank third in the National Football League in rushing yards per game (161.1), and seventh in average yards per carry (4.8).

The most famous non-quarterback pass by a Patriots player since 2000 was from wide receiver Julian Edelman, who connected with fellow wideout Danny Amendola for a 51-yard touchdown in a 2014 AFC Divisional Round playoff game against the Ravens.
