"This morning the Cleveland Browns were informed that a player has tested positive for COVID-19", the team said in a statement.

The team made the moves on Saturday, capping a rough few days as the Browns (6-3) navigated around positive tests and protocols.

The Browns had contingency plans in case the two were unable to return, giving reps to Matt McCrane at kicker and preparing Kendall Lamm to fill in for Conklin.

The Browns will be without their top defensive player Sunday against the Philadelphia Eagles, as Cleveland placed star defensive end Myles Garrett on the reserve/COVID-19 list Friday. Erring on the side of caution saved the Browns from other players potentially contracting the virus or being considered close contacts of Garrett and needing to self-isolate.

"Four other Browns now are on the COVID-19 reserve list: tackle Jack Conklin, tackle Chris Hubbard, fullback Andy Janovich, and kicker Cody Parkey", Pro Football Talk reports.

Conklin has stabilized Cleveland's line this season after being signed as a free agent from Tennessee. Dunn made his National Football League debut last week after being elevated from the practice squad.

1 overall pick of the 2017 NFL Draft, is now leading the NFL in sacks with 9.5 through the first 10 weeks. Coach Kevin Stefanski has said he was hopeful that both will be able to rejoin the team before Sunday. He spent time on the Vikings' practice squad in 2019 and has spent all of the 2020 season on the Browns practice squad. He's expected to start again Sunday against the Eagles.
