Microsoft Teams personal features now available in the desktop and web app

Teams for personal use is in preview on all platforms at the moment but still includes several useful features and seems to work well.

Other app options like Slido, allow users to plan and conduct live polls, quizzes, and Q&As in the Teams meetings. Teams calls can last up to 24 hours, which should be longer than most conversations people have. Similarly, a few days back Zoom meetings also announced that they will lift the 40-minute video call limit temporarily for Thanksgiving day. Microsoft specifies that this limit is in place "until further specified", so the company could change it in the future. Microsoft Teams for web doesn't need a Microsoft account or Microsoft Teams app to join a chat or call.

Chat with people who don't have the Teams app. You will be able to switch between your work and home accounts in Team for Windows and the web. To start a meeting you have to visit Microsoft's new Teams web link and Sign in. You can also share photos and videos.

This year has been a huge year for Zoom, as families and friends around the world have turned to the video chat service to stay in touch during the COVID-19 pandemic. People can then reply to your messages via SMS. (Zoom has a max of 100 participants for Basic and Pro users.) There's also a feature called Together Mode that will arrange everyone's video feeds so it looks like they're sitting together in a theater or coffee shop.

Location alerts can now be set to notify select contacts whenever you leave or arrive at designated locations for added peace of mind when traveling.

The new apps for meetings in the Teams app store include Asana, Bigtincan, Buncee, Decisions, HireVue, Lucid Agreements, Microsoft Forms, Monday.com, Phenom, Pigeonhole Live, Polly, Priority Matrix, Range, Slido, Soapbox, Talview, Teamflect, Wakelet, and xMatters. A host on Microsoft Teams can invite individuals through a link that can be accessed directly from a Web browser.
