The university announced Saturday's game will be moved to December 12 after KU was unable to meet the minimum position requirements outlined by the Big 12 Conference.

Kansas football's home game Saturday against Texas has been postponed because of "KU's inability to meet the minimum position requirements established by the Big 12 Conference", KU announced Wednesday. The Jayhawks previously were scheduled to end their season on December 5 at Texas Tech.

Fifteen FBS football games were postponed or canceled because of coronavirus last week, which included Missouri's home game against Georgia.

Of course, KU already had run into issues with COVID-19 this year, most notably as head coach Les Miles contracted the virus and missed the Jayhawks' loss at West Virginia as he isolated.

"The position group affected has a combination of injuries and contact tracing", Kansas said in a release.

In KU's most recent loss at Oklahoma on November 7, positive COVID-19 testing results for unspecified athletes led to defensive line starters Marcus Harris and Da'Jon Terry being withheld from competition.

Overall, 14 out of 62 games involving Bowl Subdivision teams scheduled for this week have been called off.

The Texas at Kansas football game has been rescheduled for Saturday, Dec. 12.

The Longhorns had an open date last week, meaning their next scheduled game against Iowa State at home on Friday, Nov. 27 will be their first game in 20 days.
