The Los Angeles Clippers are looking to add an experienced center to bolster their frontcourt rotation.

The deal is a mid-level exception pact for two years and $19 million, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

In Los Angeles, Ibaka reunites with Kawhi Leonard, a former teammate on the Toronto Raptors 2019 championship-winning squad.

Ibaka will help to ease the reported loss of Clippers big Montrezl Harrell, the reigning Kia NBA Sixth Man, who is expected to sign with the crosstown rival Lakers.

After the first 24 hours of 2020 free agency, Spanish forward Serge Ibaka was among the best remaining players on the board.

In 55 regular-season games, he averaged 15.4 points and 8.2 rebounds on 38.5% shooting from beyond the arc in just 27.0 minutes of playing time. Earlier Saturday, Toronto agreed to terms with guard Fred VanVleet to a four-year, US$85-million deal.

Both the Raptors and Brooklyn Nets had reportedly been in pursuit of Ibaka, but the 31-year-old will instead reuinte with Kawhi Leonard, with whom he won an National Basketball Association championship in 2019.
