Denmark's Joachim Hansen carded a bogey-free final round of 67 to claim his maiden win on the European Tour with a two-shot victory in the Joburg Open at the Randpark Golf Club on Sunday.

And, after making two bogeys as he finished his second round early in the morning, Hansen was soon in a share of the lead as he eagled the fourth from 18 feet and put his tee shot at the par-three next inside 10 feet.

Nienaber made nine birdies and an eagle on day one for a round of 8-under par on Thursday and then followed it up with a solid 4-under 67 on Friday to lie just one stroke behind compatriot Jacques Blaauw on 12-under par after 36 holes.

Hansen birdied the 10th, 12th and 14th holes to get into a tie for the lead before Nienaber bogeyed the 17th after nearly finding the water to the left of the green.

They were Nienaber's first dropped shots in 30 holes, though the second place finish is a career best result on the tour for the 20-year-old, who turned professional last year.

"It was a fun battle out there with Wilco", Hansen said. "I kept pushing. It started slowly but suddenly the birdies came on the back nine".

Shaun Norris of South Africa was third on 16 under after finishing with a 66.

He has made the most of his opportunities, however, recording two top 10s, and the man who leads the European Tour in distance off the tee now has a chance to become a victor in his 23rd event and the youngest champion in Joburg Open history. It's the first of three straight tournaments in South Africa before the season-ending World Tour Championship in Dubai from December 10-13.
