Neymar is set to return from injury for Paris Saint-Germain in Ligue 1 on Friday with a view to facing RB Leipzig in a crucial Champions League match next week, the club said.

But lively German forward Kevin Volland netted twice after the break, and was fouled by centre half Abdou Diallo for a penalty converted by former Spain and Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas in the 83rd.

The trio will all be available to Thomas Tuchel when the Ligue 1 champions take on Monaco at the Stade Louis II, though.

And fresh reports from Alfredo Duro on the very same TV programme, via Sport, say Neymar phoned up Ramos and sold him the PSG dream.

Monaco moved up to second place, and four points behind PSG, despite being without top scorer Wissam Ben Yedder as he recovers from the coronavirus.

"If you come back from two down to win 3-2 it is for sure something special, but I don't want to glorify it too much", said ex-Bayern Munich coach Kovac. "It was a big victory but nothing more".

A groin injury forced Neymar to miss PSG's previous three games and he was released from Brazil duty after it was deemed he would not be ready to feature in their World Cup qualifier against Uruguay on Tuesday.

Mbappe was back in the starting line-up, however, after missing his club's last two outings prior to the global break with a hamstring injury. I am very confident about him being able to play at Monaco. He even had another goal disallowed just before half-time.

Striker Moise Kean and Mbappe had goals ruled out for offside shortly before the break, and Monaco pulled one back in the 51st when Volland turned in Fofana's cross from the right.

Volland then equalised with a tap-in after Fabregas, on as a substitute, had beaten goalkeeper Keylor Navas to a cross.
