He got his dying wish.

Twenty-nine year old Anthony Woodie married his longtime girlfriend Emilee on that date, in a ceremony in SC that was officiated over the phone by ordained minister - and Halloween star - Jamie Lee Curtis. Emilie opened up about her late husband's final moments to Charleston's The Post and Courier. As his condition worsened over the a year ago, Woodle got connected to Curtis through Rough House Productions, the local SC based production company reviving the Halloween franchise. Before the wedding, director David Gordon Green had arranged a private screening for the couple to watch, and the experience provided Woodle with some much-needed joy at a very hard time. Green connected him with Hollywood's iconic "Scream Queen" after learning of his diagnosis. Anthony Woodle, a 29-year-old aspiring filmmaker, was diagnosed with esophageal cancer last year. In addition to sending a package that included an autographed knife from the movie, Curtis, who is an ordained minister, offered to marry Woodle to the love of his life.

Curtis learned about Woodie's story afterward, and reached out to him.

Though Woodle and his wife meant to be married on Halloween, the ceremony was scheduled for September 13, which unfortunately was day when Woodle's health had deteriorated significantly, leaving him unconscious in bed but surrounded by his loved ones. Curtis performed the ceremony over Zoom while the fright-flick fan lay unconscious in bed with with his bride-to-be by his side. The event began at 10:30 a.m.

"Anthony and Emilee, all anyone is promised is this moment". We live and we love in this moment. May the blessings of God rest upon you, may his peace abide with you, may her spirit illuminate your heart now, in this moment.

Less than an hour later, at 11:17 p.m., Woodie passed. The couple, who got engaged on Halloween in 2016 per the New York Post, was also given a private early screening of the upcoming Halloween Kills, due out next year. Emilee said that was the most she'd ever "seen him smile".

On the day of the ceremony, Woodle turned for the worse. "Anthony, I am honored to have been your friend".
