Guns N' Roses 2021 Australia Tour

Guns N' Roses have announced one of the first worldwide stadium tours in Australia for 2021, with a lineup including classic-era members Slash, Axl Rose and Duff McKagan set to perform a slew of arena dates in November next year.

The tour graphic shared to social media features the five classic "Appetite for Destruction" skull figures arranged over a cross, though Kerrang! assumes the tour will feature the same lineup - including Axl Rose, Slash, and Duff McKagan - that performed during the Not In This Lifetime... tour rather than the full classic lineup.

"Now that COVID-related restrictions are easing, New Zealanders can look forward to the return of large-scale stadium events such as this and, let's face it, Guns N' Roses deliver every single time". The band's 2004 9x Platinum Greatest Hits compilation topped the RIANZ chart, spent 5 weeks at #1 and remained on the chart for 50 weeks - making it one of New Zealand's biggest selling albums of all time. Those dates were rescheduled from the band's originally announced 2020 dates.

Guns N' Roses have billed the dates as "the first stadium tour since the advent of COVID-19 and border closures pressed pause on touring", and it certainly seems the band is in with a shout on that claim.

Guns N' Roses will come to New Zealand after a multi-city tour of Australia, where they will quarantine upon arrival. Courier Mail were also suitably wowed: "This was an act at the top of its game: there was not a musical misfire to be heard and the tight, high-energy production would have been the envy of musicians half their age".

It's all aboard the Nightrain to Paradise City with the GNR 2021 tour offering much needed light from a pretty bleak 2020 tunnel.
