Cristiano Ronaldo is under investigation for a potential breach of coronavirus protocols after his positive diagnosis earlier this month according to Italian Sports Minister Vincenzo Spadafora.

Cristiano Ronaldo immediately flew back to Italy after he tested positive for the dreaded coronavirus during the worldwide break while he was with the Portugal national team.

"Cristiano did not respect the protocol".

'Cristiano did not respect the protocol. "There's an investigation to prove it".

'The virus has taught us that no one is exempt, obviously they are all people who have tried to respect the protocols as much as possible, but the only solution in the end is to stay at home'.

Ronaldo went on to miss Juve's draw with Crotone and win at Dynamo Kiev in their Champions League opener before then posting another positive test a day later, preventing him from returning for the Serie A clash against Hellas Verona over the weekend. However, Ronaldo was one of a number of players who left early to join their respective national teams for the global break.

'I returned from Portugal because my team and I made sure to comply with all the procedures.

He is now under investigation for breaking quarantine rules while away on worldwide duty, having travelled back to his house in Italy via a private air ambulance after contracting Covid-19.

The 35-year-old posted a selfie from the garden of his house in Turin where he is following the quarantine after testing positive for Covid-19. Everything was done with authorisation.' Said the Juventus superstar.

Ronaldo is unable to compete Wednesday at the Allianz Stadium in Turin, as UEFA regulations state that a player must test negative 24 hours before a game to be included in the matchday squad.

As Juve and Barca meet on Wednesday and no negative test was presented to UEFA, Ronaldo will not be available for selection.
