The upgrade will boost the visual and technical prowess of No Man's Sky across the board, allowing for 4K resolution at 60 FPS, longer draw distances, deeper texture density, improved grass physics and "warp-speed" loading times. With the new update coming to the game, better quality shadows, more distant surfaces, updated lighting and volumetric effects will be presented to the players.

When the Xbox Series X was first unveiled, you might remember the internet memes where people compared the overall design and size of the next-gen console to an actual mini-fridge. It's a free upgrade for PlayStation 4 or Xbox One players, and PC players will get the enhancements at no additional cost as well.

Microsoft has confirmed that all nearly Xbox, Xbox 360 and XBox One games will be compatible with the next gen consoles. This, alongside the brand new 32-player multiplayer, means the universe of No Man's Sky will feel busier than ever.

According to Ronald, after over an exhaustive 500 thousand hours of testing, Microsoft can finally confirm that every single game on the Xbox library - which includes the original Xbox, Xbox 360, and the Xbox One - will be playable on Xbox Series X/S at launch. "Players can now work together to create massive extraterrestrial colonies in No Man's Sky with the ability to create and manipulate much larger and more complex bases", said the developer.

In a PlayStation Blog post, written by Sean Murray, director of Hello Games, some of the major details are covered in what to expect from the next-gen version of No Man's Sky. "It's our intent for all Xbox One games that do not require Kinect to play on Xbox Series X at the launch of the console".

PlayStation 5 owners will have some exclusive features thanks to the Sony console's unique offerings.
