The Frenchman arrived at Tottenham with a sterling reputation as an all-action midfielder capable of performing at the very highest level, but failed to live up to those high standards during his first season in the Premier League.

But South Korea forward Son scored his eighth league goal of the season in the 76th minute, heading in from close range after a headed pass from Kane.

Sources told ESPN that Ndombele was so upset he didn't want to play for Mourinho again, but he has since bounced back and impressed with his performances this term.

"They have got some unbelievable attacking players and it is a unusual season, but I don't think they can win the league purely because they haven't done before and the game at Burnley could have swung either way", Neville said on Sky Sports' Monday Night Football.

"It was just something that I assimilated and took on board".

"I don't think we have seen the best of Tanguy Ndombele yet".

Mourinho even praised Hojbjerg as a "good leader" last week, and its clear that the Dane is the key man in the Spurs midfield as things stand.

"I feel better. That comes from playing consecutive matches".

"Last year I didn't have that so much".

"In Real Madrid, I had unbelievable, fantastic attacking players and we managed to build the team in a certain way", he said ahead of the trip to Burnley, live on Monday Night Football.

"Between France and England, there's a real difference in the intensity of the matches".

The veteran Portuguese manager is often accused of a defensive style of play particularly during his spell at Manchester United and last season at Tottenham, he responded: 'Depends on the team. "This season it's going a lot better". Mourinho's La Liga-winning Real Madrid side scored 121 goals on their way to the title in 2011/12, accumulating 100 points and conceding 32 goals. More than that? Why not?
